Baby Witt: news to-date

  • Due date 4/22/08

  • Gender: UNKNOWN. We want to be surprised at the delivery!

  • Names: for a boy, Killian Michael Witt, and for a girl, Keelin Witt. We haven't decided if a girl's middle name is Justine, or Rori (Rori is a traditional name for a redhead, which runs in both families.)

  • Justine and the baby have undergone extensive testing, and all is well. The baby is a mover and a shaker, and for a while now we've been able to see all the action from the outside. This has been described as 'cool', 'weird', and 'kind of alien'. That's all true!

  • We're taking birth-prep classes now, but have not started to panic yet. Bonnie said Michael was born 45 minutes after arriving at the hospital, so that's our birth plan.

  • We had a fantastic baby shower on Sunday 2/10! Michael's family from South Dakota, parents Jim and Bonnie, and sister Heather, came out for the week. His sister Shelly surprised us at the last minute and came out from Maui for the shower and a couple extra days. Justine's Mom, Cheryl, threw us a beautiful shower, one of the best parties ever! Thanks to everyone who helped, we had *the best* time! We built the Witt's End web site for our gift registration and shower information, and it's been very handy to keep track of all the items that we need and already have.

  • Bonnie and Heather had a working vacation and painted an under-the-sea mural in the baby's room (south-west bedroom, if you know the house). Shelly and Michael contributed -- Michael did the base sky/water, and Shelly did the Moorish Idol. It is *way* cool, the baby is going to LOVE her/his room. There are dolphins, a turtle, a killer whale, fishies, and a lighthouse. Sometimes I just go stand in there and enjoy the view!

Most of the pics of the baby's room were taken late Feb '08 once we got the crib all set up, and the pic of Justine was taken 1/28/08, 28 weeks pregnant.

The room looks great with the furniture! We are very glad you like the room, it was soooo fun to do. All of us here in SD (that's South Dakota, not San Diego) are anxiously awaiting the arrival of Baby Witt. Keep us posted.
Love, Heather
